DVD Version - Reinstalling Microsoft Flight Simulator

This article is regarding the Disc version of Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020 release). To reinstall the digital download version of the simulator, please view the following guide .
To reinstall Microsoft Flight Simulator, please follow the steps below.

Section 1: Uninstalling Microsoft Flight Simulator.

1) In the Windows search bar, search and open "Add or remove programs"
2) In the window that opens, search "Microsoft Flight Simulator - DVD Content" in the list of installed apps.
3) Click on "Microsoft Flight Simulator - DVD Content" and click "Uninstall".
4) Repeat the same steps above, replacing "Microsoft Flight Simulator - DVD Content" with just "Microsoft Flight Simulator".

Section 2: Installing Microsoft Flight Simulator.

1) Insert Disc 1 and proceed with the Disc installation.

2) After reaching DVD 10, you will be prompted for an activation code. As you have previously installed the simulator, you will not be able to redeem this code again. Instead, close the code redemption window and follow the steps below.

3) In the Windows search bar, search and open the "Microsoft Store" app.

4) In the bottom left corner, click "Library".

5) In the top right click "Get updates". Wait for all updates to complete before moving to step 6.


6) On the same page, scroll down until you see "Microsoft Flight Simulator". Depending on the edition you own this may be named "Microsoft Flight Simulator", "Microsoft Flight Simulator - Preorder", or "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe - Preorder". Once found, click the download button.


Microsoft Flight Simulator will now proceed to download and install. Once complete, you can launch the simulator either on the same store page or by searching "Microsoft Flight Simulator" in the Windows search bar.
