DVD Version - "This code has already been redeemed." when reinstalling or installing to a new PC
This article is regarding Microsoft Flight Simulator, however, the same steps can be applied to other games and applications redeemed on the Microsoft Store, you'll just need to substitute Microsoft Flight Simulator with the app or game you are trying to download.
If you have purchased a key from a third-party vendor and receive this error when redeeming a code for the first time, please contact the vendor/key shop you purchased the key from.
If you are attempting to install Microsoft Flight Simulator on a new system, you will need to ensure you are logged into the same Microsoft account you were when you first redeemed the code.
The code provided in the boxed copy is a one-time use code, however, it is linked to your Microsoft account. You can continue the reinstallation of the simulator by manually starting the download from either the Microsoft Store or Xbox PC app.
Complete installation via Windows Store
1) In the Windows search bar, search and open the "Microsoft Store" app.
2) In the bottom left corner, click "Library".
3) In the top right click "Get updates". Wait for all updates to complete before moving to step 4.
4) On the same page, scroll down until you see "Microsoft Flight Simulator". Depending on the edition you own this may be named "Microsoft Flight Simulator", "Microsoft Flight Simulator - Preorder", or "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe - Preorder". Once found, click the download button.
Microsoft Flight Simulator will now proceed to download and install. Once complete, you can launch the simulator either on the same store page or by searching "Microsoft Flight Simulator" in the Windows search bar.
Complete installation via Xbox App
1) Download and install the latest version of the Xbox PC app from
https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/apps/xbox-app-for-pc
2) Click the Microsoft Flight Simulator icon on the left sidebar.
3) Click the "Install", "Play" or "Update" button. If an install or download is required you will be able to click the launch button after completion.
